I needed an electrician to come out to my house and inspect the power lines. Purchased a home built in 1900, so house needed to be re-wired and up-to-code. They removed the old knob-and-tub and re-wired entire house. They were very easy to work with and explained what needed to be done and what was code. Very clean and professional! Installed all plug-ins, light switches and installed light fixtures I purchased. Installed a generator switch on my panel and a special plug-in on the outside of house. I definitely recommend Emerald State Electric for any electrical job you might need. I will be doing more remodeling in the future of a small guest room off garage and will call them to do the work.
These guys have awesome customer service. Out of all the electricians I called and left messages with, Dennis was the only one who answered. The only other one who ever called me back was booked 2 months out and wouldn't give me quotes. I like the way these guys did it, they took a deposit that could be applied to any work done and came out to give me a quote. Dennis gave me straight up, no nonsense quotes and was able to save me a lot of money by fixing the wiring for the heaters in the house we just bought. I was prepared to spend thousands on a new heating system, instead I only spent a few hundred. We have a lot of projects we'll be doing over the next couple years and we'll definitely be using them.
These guys are great! Came in on time, did as promised, warned me of the fire hazard my existing electrical panel posed (which was what my inspector had told me about when I was looking to buy the place). When going through to see why my power was randomly turning itself off - then coming on again - we found outlets filled with debris, missing boxes, etc (more fire hazards). Brian also found the best replacement panel for me, taking into account existing conditions and my new services plans (laundry room, ventilation fans, replacing circuits, etc.) and gave me a good deal on the new electrical panel. They were very upfront with the costs, explained the processes to me in some detail, their estimated time needed for each thing, etc. It was NICE to not have to wonder what is next.
We have had Emerald State Electric to our home 3 separate times to install 2 ceiling fans, several lighting fixtures as well as adding multiple outlets to accommodate new LED lighting in our kitchen. We request Brian and Brady every time as both men are friendly, arrive on time and work hard. Their rates are reasonable and they are knowledgeable and seem more than capable of doing whatever we need done. We feel like we really get our money's worth and will be calling them again whenever we need more electrical work done.
Customer service PLUS! Living with a well can always have challenges, this was an exception. Dennis returned my call within an hour, even after hours. . He did offer to come out, but felt I could make it thru the night without water. First thing, next morning he was here to confirm there was a short in the buried power line. His earliest opening was 5 days later, but he rigged a temporary line to get the power to the well.
Brian and Bradley came out on scheduled day and rerouted the power and also tidied up wiring in the well building. Ended up being around 7 hours, but totally satisfied with work performed and the cleanup.

I have nothing but glowing reviews for this company. When I called them for pricing, they didn't beat around the bush or give a huge price range. We needed a new electrical outlet to be installed in our garage and all of my questions were met with very knowledgeable answers.
Less than 24 hours after placing the call, we had an electrition out to our house. He was prompt, friendly, and also knowledgeable. The work was done quicker than we expected.
We will use Emerald Electric for all of our future projects.
Having used many contractors while renovating several houses, most of the crews that I work with always seem to either charge extraordinary prices, or take their time getting to your job - once they do show, it always seems to take more than one business day to get done, regardless of how small the gig was. Emerald State is fantastic that it falls outside of these norms. These guys are great! I came across them as a referral and since then they are my first call anytime I need electrical help. Extremely knowledgeable - if they don't know something immediately, they find out and get back to you. They're prompt - always on time. And best of all, they get the job done, even when it looks like it's gonna be a 2 day job, they seem to always get it taken care of the first day. With the current property I'm working with, there has been a ton of work needed where the original electricians did it wrong, and now required some out of the box thinking to get it working right - Emerald State Electric seems to specialize in that and has never let me down. Don't waste your time trying to find other contractors to do electrical work, just give these guys a call. You'll be happy you did.
I will echo other comments here that Dennis was exceptionally professional and did outstanding work.
I had a breaker inexplicably start tripping, and had 1/2 a house without electricity. I called at 8:30 AM and he was at my house by 11 AM. Within minutes he'd identified and fixed the problem. Through every step he explained exactly what he was doing and what it meant. He was also more than willing to answer any question I had and look at any other outlets/switches that needed some attention as well.
FYI, I called and left messages with 3 other contractors prior to Emerald State, (none of which bothered calling me back btw) Dennis answered his phone and I had an appointment for that morning within minutes.
I think some might feel he's a little expensive, but the quality and timeliness of service was absolutely worth it. This company would definitely be the first I call for future electrician work in my home.
I had Emerald State Electric fix an electrical nightmare left by a prior contractor. How refreshing to deal with such a professional company. They were here on time and did exactly what they were contracted to do in a polite and expedient manner. While they were here, I had them replace a ceiling fan left by the prior homeowner. They even cleaned up after themselves. I will definitely use them again for any electrical needs, and I whole-heartedly recommend them.
I am a new home owner and was completely flummoxed by my exterior outlets losing power suddenly over the weekend. Unable to figure it out with my elementary knowledge of fuse boxes and outlets. I called emerald state first thing Monday morning. They were able to be out to my house within an hour and had the issue (a couple loose wires in the grounding outlet) fixed in less than 45 minutes. They cleaned up a couple outlets and made sure that there were no more loose connections. I was really happy with the professionalism and speed of the technicians who didn't mind me hovering over their shoulders trying to learn just a little more. I would definitely call them again.
Exceptional customer service ! I woke up to a very cold house and realized the circuit breaker for my furnace had gone bad. So after reading several excellent reviews for the company, I called Emerald State Electric. I got a hold of a real person immediately ! I explained my situation, and Dennis told me he could come out to my house as soon as he was done with his current customer. He was at my home ASAP ! He diagnosed and fixed the bad circuit breaker very quickly, he also explained quite a bit about my electrical panel...I was relieved to find out it wasn't as bad as I thought ! Dennis replaced an additional circuit breaker, added a circuit breaker, rearranged some wiring to make the panel less crowded and therefore safer, even took a quick look at my heater for me ! All of this was work was done very quickly, very thoroughly and for a very reasonable price. Dennis went above and beyond my expectations and I am thrilled to have found an electrician that I can trust. I will be calling Dennis for any future electrical work that my home needs.
I, like the previous reviewer have never needed the services of an electrician. I am very glad to have read their review and would like to say that Dennis was fantastic! My problem was minor, but he made sure I was satisfied with the work before he left. He came out the same day (the day after Christmas). He explained the process all the way through (something I really appreciated). He was courteous and had all the supplies he needed in his truck. If I ever need an electrician again, I will be calling Dennis and his crew at Emerald State Electric!
Woke up Sunday morning & our bathroom lights, fans, sockets as well as the bedrooms on either side & the hall were not working. We tested the swithes on the electrical panel & still no luck. I went on yelp & google to search for an electrician & made a call to the top rated company asking them to call back asap to schedule something. Well the top rated company didn't call back for 2 days & only called to say they were booked 2 weeks out. My hubby doesn't like going 2 weeks without shaving so I had already called Emerald State (#2 ranked in my area) who were able to come the same day! Dennis had it diagnosed & working in under 2 hours & quoted on a secondary job as well & scheduled to come back 2 days later to fix that as well... Seems the folks who owned the house before my hubby had connected all the sockets in the dining room & the bathroom wall heater to be 220 volts. Dennis had that all rewired in 45 minutes. We will definitely use this company for any electrical issues going forward!
This was the first time I ever needed to call for home repair. I first tried Craigslist, but then was nervous of the quality of work and decided to search with yelp. I quickly found Emerald State Electric and Dennis was very quick to respond. He is very knowledgeable and understood the problem quickly and gave me cost efficient solutions. I highly recommend his services and will be a life long customer.
Quite a few months ago I had a problem with Comcast.... they stated my house had an electrical problem. my landlords paid emerald state electric to check the whole house, they established the house I live in is grounded normally and everything checked out. after a couple of days fighting with Comcast (they kept saying something was wrong with the house) I called emerald state again to get any help I could. I was amazed that he came out that night on his own dime to double check my house. I'm horrible at names but if I ever need any other electrical help again I'll definitely be calling emerald state electric again.
Fantastic service, came out to do a simple safety inspection and found that our guy who had down the wiring on our hot tub had cut corners, it was a safety hazard!! Thank God we had yet to get in yet! I would definitely use them again, they were fast, affordable and very service oriented. If you are in need of any electrical work look no further!!
I was having some issues with my electrical panel and wanted both it and the sub panel gone thru verifying all breakers. Dennis arrived on time looked things over and showed me the reason for my major problem and gave me several options to get things sorted out. He worked diligently all day organizing and in some cases running new wire between the panels, relabeling the breakers and making sure all was up to code. Dennis explained everything, answered all my questions, left me with two very neatly wired panels making it a very positive experience. I would not hesitate to use Emerald State Electric again.
Everyone I called said they were two to four weeks out but as I went through the list on Yelp I found Emerald State Electric and I was told they would be out in a couple of hours. I was advised of their call out rate up front and the hourly charge ahead of time as well as their service guarantee that the problem would be fixed. When Dennis showed up I went through the various things that needed attention and within a few minutes he had everything fixed. Thank goodness too for he found that the dryer wall plug wires had pulled out of the plug itself and was touching the wall box. If I had touched it I wouldn't be here writing this review. Thank you Dennis and I will be back in touch when Electrical services will be needed again.
Only wanted to change a few outlets and light switch and didn't know it was a continous circuit. After speaking with Dennis over the phone, he was able to advise with his expert knowledge and help me fix the problem without even having to come out. If I ever need another electician, I would definitely call him!
